Douglas and Krista Heidland, Owners of North Fork IT Services

Doug was raised by fairly strict parents in Woodland, Washington where they instilled a strong work ethic and sense of community responsibility. Krista's parents are retired Navy and both of us have the highest respect for those who serve our country and help to keep us free.

Besides a strong design sense, his personality and communication skills are two of Doug's strongest attributes. These skills have assisted in bringing him to the top of the corporate ladder before returning to Woodland and starting North Fork IT Services. Krista has enjoyed a medical career as a phlebotomist before switching to technical writing and web site content editing.

Though Doug started with law enforcement and had a brief run as a stunt man his true love is technology. Both of us have enjoyed building our careers in technology and have worked for for some excellent organizations including Dell, General Motors, Hewlett Packard, and Microsoft. Currently, in addition to managing North Fork IT Services, Krista is a stay-at-home mom while Doug works for Oregon Health and Science University as a Senior Information Systems Project Manager. It is a rare thing to be able to do what you love and get paid for it at the same time.

Over the last fourteen years Doug has managed to work my his around several Fortune 500 Corporations and reach the the Executive Level; In that time he was employed in all aspects of Information Technology from help desk support to high end Business Systems consulting.

Throughout his 14+ year career Doug has learned what it takes to stand out and present a professional image. He is considered to be a Subject Matter Expert in many areas of Business Planning and Information Technology. In addition to that designation He has also received both ISO & COPC process certification, a Six Sigma green belt, and is quickly gaining expertise in Sarbanes Oxley while pursuing PMP certification from the Project Management Institute [PMI].

In October 2005 Doug and Krista were living in Augusta, Georgia as the southern states reeled from the after effects of Hurricane Katrina. While they loved Georgia it was time to return home to the Pacific Northwest.

Returning to Washington they decided to return to the Doug's home town, Woodland. After taking some time to settle they reviewed the local market while Doug worked on contracted applications development for several major companies in the Nano-Tech field.

In January of 2006 Doug and Krista started North Fork IT Services to fulfill the local market need for experienced, quality information technology services. In May of 2006 Krista announced that a new addition to the team was on the way!

Our Son Madden arrived in January of 2007 and is growing like a weed. Not surprisingly one of his favorite activities is to sit and 'help' us work at the computer.

In addition to our beautiful son we also have two wonderful German Shepherds named Rikka and Lothar. If you have a chance to meet them they can be a bit frightening until they get to know you, but they're all bark.

Our family is active in the church and our community. We look forward to seeing you at a Chamber of Commerce After Hours or Luncheon, church, or a Grange meeting. As Woodland celebrated it's 100th anniversary in 2006 we are excited to be building our families future here.

In addition to being members of local civic organizations Doug is also a proud member of the Good News Web Designers Association. The GNWDA is an organization that certifies Christian Web Designers and is built on honesty, integrity, and service.

Currently North Fork IT Services provides excellent consulting, design, and IT management services for all organizational sizes; as small a a Woodland small business website through full viral campaigns for major production houses.
