Buying
a new computer and don't know what to do with the old
one?
You don't need to store it in your attic or put it on
the curbside. There are many ways to recycle or at least
recover some of the valuable materials inside—before
it reaches the garbage heap.
If you are thinking of throwing your computer away please
check with your local City and County governments regarding
disposal of electronics. Most computers and components
are classified as Hazardous or Toxic materials and have
specific proceedures that must be followed when they are
disposed of.
Computer components may contain small amounts of gold,
silver, and platinum in the printed wiring boards and
connectors. The metal is difficult to separate from the
rest of the materials, some of which may be hazardous.
Our Recycling Program
For a minimal fee to cover the cost of disassembly,
and travel to an approved recycling center, we will recycle
your computer. We will also give the hard drive in your
computer a complete electromagnetic wipe to ensure that
any personal or secure information that may still be on
the drive is completely erased.
